Most of us tend to misinterpret two phrases;  "leadership" and "leader" are one.  But it's really wrong.  So we wonder if there is anything different between those two phrases.  The answer is really very simple is that the phrase "leadership" is about the category of work and "leader" is about the category of position.

So who is the "leader" and what are the elements they need to have.

A "leader" is someone who knows how to achieve his desired goals through others.  And, they themselves need to have the following 3 basic elements.  They must first know how to create a vision.  Next, they must know how to inspire people to carry out their vision.  And in the end, they must know how to use their power, to make a wise influence.  In short, a "leader" is someone who has the ability to create a vision, know how to inspire and influence people to do it.

To talk about "Leader", we go to solve one more problem.  That is "What is their job".  "The leader" they usually have 4 things to do, they are:

I. Who are the leaders and what are their jobs?

1. Innovating and creating value for organizations

This is like how two generations in an organization work.  The previous generation, with a serious personality, would prefer to work in a more systematic way.  The next generation, with a more comfortable personality, they want to work in an environment that is not too restrictive to deliver efficiency.  That's why, at the intersection between those two generations.  The leader must know how to change the way of working to best suit his organization.

2. Motivate the organization

This dynamic is like having to charge your smartphone for everyday use.  You can't make it run the game continuously for 1 hour with only 15% battery remaining.  In the same organization, our subordinates are like batteries.  We cannot force our employees to achieve good results with a lack of interest and dynamism.

3. Building organizational culture

This cultural building can be understood simply as it is like the rules in the school rules.  But, it has no such document.  It's like having four brothers in your house.  When meeting an adult, the eldest brother will take the initiative to greet him first, and the rest of the children will know how to follow without having to teach.

4. Building learning organization

This is like learning from your friends.  Leaders must be able to build jobs so that their employees actively learn from each other.  It's like the first person only teaches the latter.  This will contribute significantly to improving the organization.

After understanding the basic tasks that "leaders" have to do.  We will start to understand "What is a vision and why a leader should have it".

"Vision" if understood in a simple way.  That is a limited amount that one can see.  But, from an economist's perspective, the "vision" here simulates the future direction through the organization's mission.  It does not carry a temporary trend in the present, but it does carry a long-term strategy towards the future.

Each of us as individuals and entities always carry in themselves different "visions".  And, the interesting thing about "vision" is, it will be proportional to the position you currently have.  It's like the "vision" of a corporate chairman and a branch manager.  Their vision and direction were different.  At this point, we can also partly understand the importance of the "vision" for the organization.  Because of the "vision", it is a simulated picture that the organization can achieve in the future based on current organizational data.

After we have learned all about "leader" and "vision", we will go to solve the key question, that is: "How is Visionary Leadership and what factors it is expressed through?"  The above question will be solved through the following 3 factors.

II. How is Visionary Leadership and what factors it is expressed through?

1. Identify hazards in the environment

This factor is based on the SWOT diagram to identify the current situation of the organization.  From there that can give solutions to it.  Specifically, Strengths that one should maintain and develop.  Weaknesses what we need to fix and get rid of it.  Opportunities that we need to capture at the right time.  Finally, the Threats are what we should take in order to guard against it.

2. Set out the strategy

This is the next factor after getting to know the current problem through SWOT.  This factor works according to the process.  After we have analyzed the current signal data according to SWOT.  The next thing we should consult and accept everyone's opinion.  Only then do we begin to make a decision and take responsibility for it.  The last is to clarify and communicate the strategy to the organization.

3. Inspire others to look further

This factor is an important factor that can motivate employees to work more effectively.  From there, it is possible to fulfill the set goals.  This factor is done by communicating the strategy of one's own vision that the "leader" can change employee's perception and vision in a broader way.

A "Visionary Leadership" is to know how to recognize the existing capabilities and risks of an organization.  From there, devise a strategy to fix it.  At the same time, it must also know how to inspire the organization to see it.
