Santander Boosts VIP Services for Wealthy Clients

Santander intensifies its focus on high-net-worth customers, offering exclusive VIP services at select airports for clients with €100,000+ assets.

Banco Santander is intensifying its strategic initiatives aimed at high-net-worth individuals, unveiling a suite of VIP services at select airports and an array of exclusive financial products. This initiative targets clients whose assets surpass 100,000 euros and whose monthly incomes exceed 3,000 euros.

In an increasingly competitive banking landscape, where institutions vie for the allegiance of affluent clientele, Santander’s latest offering is a calculated move to cater to a distinctly lucrative demographic. The bank delineates this group as not only individuals with substantial financial resources but also as “managers of companies or high-potential customers,” as articulated in their recent communiqué.

For those fortunate enough to be classified within the Select category, the benefits are manifold. These clients will enjoy advisory services from seasoned bank specialists and preferential terms when engaging with various banking products. The new financial offerings include a maintenance-free account, a credit card that permits deferred payments for up to three months without incurring fees, and a cashback scheme that provides a 1% refund on expenditures (capped at 120 euros annually). Additionally, clients can earn Avios for every two euros spent on credit, further enhancing the allure of this package.

Moreover, Santander is rolling out an exclusive car leasing service, replete with special discounts and curated events tailored for its elite clientele. The financial offerings are complemented by a range of non-financial services, provided at no additional cost to clients and their families. These include VIP services at airports, bespoke home services—such as personal chefs and wellness treatments—and unlimited access to administrative assistance, available around the clock.

For those with a penchant for investment, the Select funds present an enticing opportunity, featuring access to third-party funds through portfolios with subsidized commissions, commission-free ETFs for the first six months, discounted securities trading, and a foreign exchange currency platform, among other options.

As Santander embarks on this ambitious expansion of services, it remains to be seen how these offerings will resonate with the broader customer base in the forthcoming months, contingent upon their subscription to these exclusive privileges.
