[embed]https://youtu.be/Bk8M6MsKv-8[/embed] The Gateway Foundation was specially founded to establish the first ever space hotel named Von Braun Rotating Space Station. According to the group, this world’s first luxury space hotel is expected to be completed by 2025. As what Tim Alatorre, the senior architecture of the space hotel project, said, “Eventually, going to space will be another option people will pick for their vacation, just like going on a cruise, or going to Disney World”; the first ever commercial space hotel will open a new tourism era: space tourism. And if this project succeeds, this will be a motivation for other enterprises to enter this extremely potential.What can you expect from this hotel?
The concept of this first ever commercial space hotel was developed by Wernher von Braun in the 1950s. When finishing, the hotel will include a 623-foot-diameter rotating wheel. This wheel aims at creating a gravitational force which is similar to the one felt on the moon. And to deliver the best experience to tourists, the hotel is equipped with technology similar to the one used on the International Space Station.
This world’s first luxury space hotel will have a total of 24 individual modules which are outfitted with the life-support systems and sleeping accommodations. And about the population of this space hotel, the Gateway Foundation expects it will reach 400. The modules can be sold, rent out for research purposes to the governments.
According to the group, they will build this first-ever space hotel as any high-end hotel that you can find in New York, Paris or Tokyo. It will include all the luxury things in a cruise ship, including restaurants, bars, musical concerts, movie screenings and educational seminars.
Besides the spectacular views of the moons, there will full-featured dining facilities and bathrooms. And for sports lovers, there are features that bend the rules of space, for instance, low-gravity basketball or rock-climbing facilities.
