Epsom salt foot soak will soothe muscles, reduce inflammation, and help you relax and improve sleep

Why use Epsom salt foot soak?

MAGNESIUM

Epsom salt offers many health benefits.  When added to water, the minerals are easily absorbed through your skin.  It's the best way to boost your magnesium (apart from food).  Sometimes getting transdermal magnesium can be a good way because it's less affected by the activity in your gut, from things like stomach acids and digestive enzymes.  It ignores the liver and stomach so magnesium can go directly into the bloodstream.

Most of us need to increase our magnesium because it is estimated

70-80% of people lack this mineral.  Magnesium is depleted whenever we are under extreme stress or anxiety.
One study found that a day 20 minutes of foot bath resulted in a significant increase in overall, magnesium intake for 4 weeks.
Since Epsom salt increases your magnesium, it has also been found respectively helpful in increasing serotonin levels in your brain, which is a "happy" and this helps to make you feel good and  comfortable!

Cardiovascular Benefits of Epso Salt

Epsom salt may also help the cardiovascular system by improving circulation, arterial elasticity, and reducing your inflammation.  It may even help lower your blood pressure!  When your arteries benefit, you then reduce the risk of blood clots, plaque buildup and any possible damage to the artery walls.  To get the full benefits, you may want to try a bath.

Additional Benefits Include

- Toxic detox
- Increase and absorb magnesium
- Reduce stress and anxiety, easy to sleep
- Cure muscle aches, pain and cramps
- Eliminate odors
- Treat fungal feet
- Helps regulate blood sugar

Benefits I've seen from Epsom salt foot soak

Every time I do an Epsom salt foot soak, I feel a difference in just 20 minutes of my foot bath!  I realized that I feel calmer and more relaxed. Since I started doing one every night, my sleep has also improved. I can sleep more easily and not wake up as usual  in the middle of the night.

How to make an Epsom salt foot soak?

What you need
- A pot large enough to soak your feet (I use a plastic bucket)
- 1/4 cup - 50 g Epsom salt
- 40 - 42 degrees Celsius of warm water (not too hot, or you won't get the optimal benefits)
- For Extra Benefits You May Also Want To Add (I Only Add Pair, Once A Month)

You can add essential oils, like a drop or two of lavender.  Lavender gives a soothing and calming effect that aids in relaxation.  This is especially useful for use near bedtime.  Many people find it to get them to sleep easier.

Some want to add in ginger or chili to help promote detoxifying benefits.

A few teaspoons of baking soda can also be added to help detoxify and soften your skin.

Steps

1. Add your Epsomi salt and add warm water from your sink or tub (enough to cover your ankles when you soak your feet).

2. Find a comfortable place to do Epsom salt foot baths because you need to do it for at least 30 minutes.  I like to sit in a comfortable chair and watch TV while soaking my feet.

How long and How often should you do Epsom salt foot soak?

I usually soak my feet for 30 to 45 minutes per night or at least a few times a week.  Some recommend taking it for at least 40 minutes for Epsom salt foot soak to help your body get rid of toxins and absorb magnesium.
