In addition, real fur and angora in products will also be stopped using by Burberry.
In July, the iconic British luxury fashion brand Burberry revealed in front of its investors the number of unsold products that it had destroyed in the previous year. It turned out Burberry had destroyed $51.4 million worth of unsold goods.

Now, Burberry’s aim is to be friendly with the environment. This belief is also the poster child for many other luxury brands in the world. The British fashion brand knows that only when it has responsibility for environment, it can achieve long-term success.

Five- year responsibility agenda

In 2017, Burberry launched a five-year agenda concentrating on three goals. First, becoming carbon neutral. Second, changing through one hundred percent of the retailer’s goods. Third, revaluing waste and positively impacting one million people.
Since then, the retailer has several partnerships with many famous companies such as Elvis & Kresse and the Make Fashion Circular Initiative. They wanted to transform 120 tonnes of leather offcuts into new products in the next five years.

Rights of animals

Alongside the decision to stop destroying unsold goods, Burberry also said that it will stop using real animal fur in its designs. The luxury fashion brand announced that it would ban any products that use fur of rabbit, fox or other animals in the future. This action is to protect the animals as well as the environment around people.
In conclusion, Burberry’s policy is correct if everyone wants to live in a harmonious world. Any modern luxury brands need to be sociable and responsible for environment in order to make a green earth.
