The retreat design is in harmony with nature
The house structure was assembled near Sao Paulo, then moved to Curcaca Valley in a mountainous area. Designers use black walls and green roof to make the residents blend with surrounding views. Especially, with roof made from grass, the house looks not only harmonious and gentle but also outstanding in the woodlands. In addition, there are also large glass panels which are used to extend the vision of surrounding valley. MAPA has designed the residence with multi-layer wood panels. This material is also known as CLT, a type of wood in which wood slices are arranged in right angles and glued together. In Maldonado, Uruguay, CLT is also used to build a simple prefab chapel on a vineyard by a studio.

Interior of the house
Living room in the house includes a dining and sitting area, which are convenient for people’s activities. There are also fireplace and bookshelf, two bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom in the residence. The kitchen is outstanding with black countertops and wood cabinets designed by Sandrin Planejados. Contemporary Prefab Retreats in Brazil and other prefab designs are really great inventions in construction area. It brings a modern and convenient housing solution for busy life; can save spaces and expenses but still full of comfort.

In the near future, prefab houses will be designed and manufactured as machines, which are able to generate electrical energy, recycle water and treat waste to be independent to the electricity networks.
