French government ban on destroying luxury goods
The French government recently issued a ban on destroying luxury goods. This received mixed opinions in the public. So what is the reason for issuing this ban? Every year, a large amount of French luxury goods is destroyed to keep prices and mystique for the brand. This not only negatively affects the environment but also triggers a wave of resentment by the French people. A ban on destroying luxury goods is necessary.

French businesses such as Amazon and other reputable companies often have the habit of destroying unsold products or returned products to ensure reputation. However, this inadvertently negatively affected the benefits of the French. Therefore, France prime minister has issued a ban on the destruction of non-food products (such as cosmetics and hygiene products, electronics, luxury clothing, etc.). The ban will take effect before 2024. According to statistics, annually the amount of destroyed goods is worth up to 650 million Euro (more than 730 million USD). This is nearly 5 times the amount of goods donated to charities. The promulgation of the ban will help France's economic situation improve significantly, especially in the current unstable world economy. Items that should have been destroyed may have been sold at a price stabilization store to serve the French. Philippe has said “It is a waste that shocks, that is shocking to common sense. It’s a scandal” The ban is also supported by Brune Poirson-France’s junior environment minister. A documentary has documented how Amazon destroyed millions of consumer-returned products, this strongly influenced him. Documentary footage documenting how Amazon destroys unsold or returned goods is shown on M6 and receives people's attention. Last year, the famous Burberry fashion company also admitted to destroying goods worth up to 28.6 million Euro (over 35.5 million USD). They explained that it is imperative to do so to keep prices and not sell cheaply to people. A ban on destroying luxury goods continues to be discussed by the government and is intended to be effective between 2021 and 2023. The draft receives much support from the French.French government ban on destroying luxury goods
