Housing prices in Portugal remained stable in the first quarter of 2024, with Lisbon maintaining its position as the most expensive region in the country for purchasing a house. Data from Doutor Finances and the Alfredo platform revealed that the average price of a house in Lisbon was 4,730 euros in March.
Overall, the average price of properties in Portugal was 2,312 euros per square metre in March, representing a slight decrease of 0.8% compared to the end of the previous year. This decline comes after a 5.9% increase between September and December, followed by a 4.8% rise in the three months prior.
Despite the slight dip in average housing prices, Lisbon remains a sought-after location for property buyers due to its vibrant culture, historical charm, and economic opportunities. The city's unique blend of old-world charm and modern amenities continues to attract both local and international buyers looking for a place to call home.
