Chinese scientists claim to hold the key to extend lifespan
Chinese scientists have developed a new gene therapy that could reverse some of the effects of aging in mice and prolong their lifespan.
Chinese scientists may have taken a step further, coming closer to the answer to a desire to live long.
Specifically, Chinese scientists have developed a new gene therapy that could reverse some of the effects of aging in mice and prolong their lifespan. Biologists at the the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in Beijing said that their new gene therapy is being developed for the first time in the world.

This therapy involves screening about 10,000 genes for factors that are particularly powerful in promoting cell aging. They identified 100 genes in that group, but the most notable one was KAT7. They then inactivated the KAT7 gene in the liver of the mouse.
KAT7 is one of the tens of thousands of genes found in mammalian cells. The scientists have also examined the function of genes in human stem cells, human liver cells, and more.
Even so, this method still has a long way to go to be ready for human trials, requiring a lot of money and more research.
