The world is facing a housing crisis, with an increasing number of people finding it difficult to afford a home. However, modular homes are offering a solution to this problem. These homes are built in a factory, and then transported to their final location and assembled on a reinforced foundation. Not only are they built quickly, with some taking as little as 4-6 weeks to complete, but they are also more affordable than traditional homes.

Modular homes are gaining popularity all around the world, from the UK to Australia, and they are being seen as a long-term solution to the housing crisis. In the UK, Legal & General operates a module manufacturing factory that produces hundreds of apartments and houses every year, with a two-bedroom house costing between £195,000 and £210,000. Make UK Modular estimates that by 2025, 20,000 modular homes will be built in the UK, which is equivalent to one-fifth of the 100,000 homes that are in short supply each year.

In the US, modular homes are also gaining popularity, with builders seeing an opportunity to provide affordable housing to those who need it. The number of modular homes built each year in the US is around 11,000, but this number is expected to rise as more Americans struggle with the cost of building a new home or selling an old house in need of repair.

Modular homes are also becoming a solution for social housing for the homeless. In Queensland, over 50 modular homes with 2-3 bedrooms are being moved to various locations as part of a state pilot program. These homes are seen as a high-quality, low-cost solution for the homeless, as well as a temporary housing solution for disaster victims and refugees.

Finland has been successful in reducing its homeless population by adopting an innovative "Housing First" strategy, which focuses on providing permanent and secure housing for people. Modular homes have been proposed as a solution to reduce costs in the transition period and are seen as a stepping stone on the path towards housing independence.

Modular homes are not just a housing solution but also an innovative solution to homelessness. However, housing alone will not solve the problem, and it must be combined with support to be effective. Modular homes are becoming a long-term solution to the housing crisis all over the world, and it is only a matter of time before they become a vital part of the new housing landscape.
