Danish Fintech Franklin Unveils Visa Cards for E-Commerce Merchants
Discover how Franklin, a Danish start-up, is empowering e-commerce merchants with the introduction of Visa cards for seamless transactions.
Franklin, a fintech start-up based in Denmark, is aiming to revolutionize the e-commerce industry by addressing the capital challenges faced by online businesses. The company's CEO recently stated that traditional banks are not well-suited for e-commerce ventures, as they struggle to secure the necessary funding for marketing and software expenses.
To combat this issue, Franklin has introduced Visa cards that offer 0.5% cashback on marketing expenditures. This innovative solution has been made possible through a strategic partnership with Nium, a B2B payments platform headquartered in Singapore. The Visa card program is designed to streamline online businesses' operations by integrating with popular e-commerce platforms like Shopify, advertising channels such as Google Ads and Meta Ads, and financial systems like Dinero and Economic.
Currently in the demo phase after emerging from stealth mode, Franklin is gearing up for a full launch in the near future. The company has already identified 25 potential customers for onboarding within the next 30 days. While Franklin is initially focusing on establishing a presence in the Danish market, it has ambitious plans to expand into the UK next. The decision to target the UK first is driven by the absence of language barriers and the strong infrastructure provided by the company's banking partner in the country.
Having raised €350,000 from various business angels, Franklin is poised for growth. The CEO, Bomann Mertz, has indicated that the company will consider another fundraising round in 12 to 16 months once it starts generating revenue. With a clear vision and a strategic approach, Franklin is set to make a significant impact on the e-commerce landscape.
Franklin's innovative Visa card program represents a game-changer for online businesses seeking to overcome capital challenges. By offering cashback on marketing expenses and integrating with key e-commerce platforms, Franklin is empowering entrepreneurs to streamline their operations and drive growth in the digital marketplace.
