According to RT, Israeli researchers claim to have partially reversed cell aging using a controversial treatment. Although this is still a small study, it partly helps us understand more about the aging process in humans.

Shortening of telomeres (repeating sequences of DNA at the ends of a chromosome) is one of the basic mechanisms behind aging. Each time a cell divides, the telomeres are shortened, making each new chromosome a little shorter than the previous one. This effect can increase the risk of genetic mutations, which can often lead to age-related diseases such as certain types of cancer.
The team at the Sagol Institute of Neuroscience at Tel Aviv University, led by physicist Shair Efrati, says they have partially reversed this process by extending telomeres through high-pressure oxygen therapy (HBOT).
Twenty-six volunteers over the age of 64 participated in the trial of a 90-minute course of high-pressure oxygen therapy weekly for 3 months. At the end of the study, the scientists were surprised to find that telomeres in a few patients had been extended by 20%.
In addition to using high-pressure oxygen therapy, scientists have also shown that adequate sleep, exercise, and healthy eating also contribute to slowing down telomeres.
The team also noted their research was only on small samples and needed to be replicated to confirm the effectiveness of this technique.
While blocking telomeres shortening doesn't necessarily reverse aging, the results still do provide a positive signal, suggesting that high-pressure oxygen therapy can improve health in old age.

AESTHETICS INDUSTRY BOOMS AFTER THE PANDEMIC
Restrictions by the pandemic have shifted face-to-face meetings and social events to video calls which means people are spending more time looking at themselves through the on-screen camera. With so much time for themselves and the shock of seeing their flawed appearance in remote meetings, many people have decided that the pandemic is the perfect time to re-new faces and refurbish their bodies.

Endermologie is a scientific technique that uses the principles of pressure massage methods. The LPG Endermologie Treatments head is equipped with two rollers, both with motors for kneading and massaging tissues. Between the rollers is a suction chamber that pressures the tissue to increase blood supply to the area. By manipulating the head differently, the skin and subcutaneous fat cells are stimulated and blood circulation is improved.
