Liberis Expands with $112m Debt Financing
UK-based embedded finance platform, Liberis, expands into North America and Europe with $112 million in debt financing, aiming to bridge the funding gap for small businesses.
Liberis, a UK-based embedded finance platform, has secured a substantial $112 million in fresh debt financing to fuel its expansion in North America and Europe, addressing the significant "funding gap" that small businesses are currently facing.
Liberis, a UK-based embedded finance platform, has recently announced that it has secured a substantial $112 million in fresh debt financing. This funding will be instrumental in supporting the company's ambitious expansion plans in North America and Europe. Currently, Liberis operates in the UK, the US, and several European markets, and now aims to extend its reach to Canada, Germany, and Poland by 2024. The company's primary objective is to address the significant "funding gap" of $5.2 trillion that small businesses are currently facing.
The latest debt financing has been provided by HSBC Innovation Banking and BCI Capital. This development comes on the heels of a €30 million debt financing raise in January, which was facilitated by Silicon Valley Bank UK. Following the collapse of SVB, HSBC UK acquired the bank for £1 in March and subsequently rebranded and expanded it to form HSBC Innovation Banking in the summer.
Established in 2007, Liberis leverages advanced AI and ML algorithms to analyze business data and create precise risk profiles. This enables the company to offer personalized funding options to small businesses that may otherwise struggle to secure responsible and sustainable finance.
Liberis' successful debt financing round of $112 million will play a pivotal role in driving its expansion efforts in North America and Europe. With a focus on leveraging cutting-edge technology to address the funding challenges faced by small businesses, the company is poised for significant growth and impact in the coming years.
