1. The good manager knows how to listen and understand

You cannot be the good manager without the support of your junior staff.  However, if you are only passive before their work, the work of the whole team will become messy and overlapping.  As the good manager, you must know what are the strengths and weaknesses of your subordinates in order to have a plan for a reasonable division of work.  This requires investment in understanding your subordinates as well as taking the time to train and guide them if needed.

The achievements and results of the good manager's work are built on the employee's work performance.  Therefore, the good manager is someone who knows how to support and motivate his employees.  Reward employees when they do a good job.  When they feel their efforts and contributions are appreciated and recognized, they will be motivated to try their best for the common work more.  The good manager can praise directly in front of the group, give gifts or give reasonable privileges to help employees get timely encouragement and compliment from the company.
